Our department is deeply involved in the supply chain of the coating field and has contributed to manufacturing in Japan. Through market development, product development, and raw material supply, we consider needs and concerns together with customers and support new development. We are contributing to the development of markets in Japan and overseas based on the knowledge we have accumulated over many years in the coating field, as well as proposals that make use of the Mitsui Group’s network.

Coating products indispensable to the world. We propose the raw materials for these important products that not only protect the object to be painted, but also enrich our daily life by providing beauty and functionality. We are also expanding our customers’ products in Japan and overseas, and we are working on comprehensive support from raw material supply to product sales.

Handling of environmentally friendly products

While there is a need for environmental friendliness throughout the industry, we are actively introducing products that meet the needs of the market and the requests of our customers. We will work together with our customers to assist in new development by squeezing out knowledge about proposals for biomass products, development of applications for water-based materials, and sometimes our customers’ painting processes.

Introducing a wide variety of coating materials

As the external environment changes day by day, one of our missions is to procure raw materials in a stable manner and establish a supply scheme for our customers. In addition to the sales of coating materials made by domestic suppliers, our department is also expanding imported products, and acrylates, polyhydric alcohols, and fatty acids are becoming representative examples. We also provide consultation on finding new suppliers and market development.
