L8020, a unique lactic acid bacteria that works on teeth
L8020 lactic acid bacteria was discovered by Professor Hiroki Nikawa at Hiroshima University, who identified lactic acid bacteria that showed strong antibacterial effects not on the intestines, but on bacteria that cause tooth decay and periodontal disease. It was named L8020 lactic acid bacteria after the 8020 movement to “keep at least 20 teeth at the age of 80 and beyond.” We are promoting the licensing business for L8020 lactic acid bacteria, an intellectual property of Hiroshima University.
Etak, a barrier against viruses and bacteria with an antimicrobial effect
Etak is an ethoxysilane-based antimicrobial agent developed by Professor Hiroki Nikawa at Hiroshima University to provide long-lasting antimicrobial protection for dental restorations. We are promoting the licensing business of Etak, which is unique in its ability to immobilize antibacterial and antiviral agents on the surface of various objects for long periods of time.
BioApatite, a bio-based material that breathes new life into eggshell, an unnecessary resource
Developed by BIOAPATITE, Inc., BioApatite eggshell membrane extract using domestic waste eggshells is a bio-material that contributes to social needs and issues such as environmental responsiveness from the perspective of “upcycling,” or the utilization of unused resources. Compared to mineral-derived hydroxyapatite, it is about 4 times more bioactive and has high adsorption performance. We are focusing on expanding sales of BioApatite while grasping market needs.
